What To Think About For A Home Remodel

Do you love your home but feel it’s in need of some updates?  Did you just purchase a home and got a deal because the house was outdated?  I speak with people all the time about what they should update with their home when they’re not sure what they want.  First, if you plan on being in this home for a long time then don’t worry about the value after the work is complete.  You should plan on making the home what you want and a place you will enjoy for the years ahead.  Let your plan only be limited by your budget.

If you are planning to sell in the near future and know your home needs some freshening up the you need to pay attention to where and how much money spend.  Maintenance items like HVAC, Hot Water Heaters and the roof are items that don’t necessarily bring you a return on your investment but are need to help get homes sold at times.  Here is a link to Remodeling Magazines Cost vs Value 2017 list.  This will help give you an idea of the return on your investment.  I do recommend speaking with your Realtor® for advice as frequently a full remodel is not necessary and will help you improve your ROI.
